Introduction

Keeping in view the requirement of the technology concentrated zone in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the major streams of Electrical Power and Communication that is almost always required, have been initially started with the future focus on Green energy, Information Security, Industrial Power Control, Solar Power, and Energy efficient systems. Well-equipped and state of the art laboratories, with dedicated faculty and lab staff has strengthened this department and been able for upbringing better Engineers to innovate current status of common man and society.

MSc Electrical Engineering

The Department of Electrical Engineering offers the following MS programs:

  • M.Sc. Electrical Engineering with specializations in:
    • Power Systems and Control Engineering
    • Communication and Electronics Engineering
  • M.Sc. Renewable Energy Engineering

MSc Eligibility Criteria

M.Sc. Renewable Energy Engineering
  • BS/BSc/BE degree in relevant Engineering discipline (Electrical, Electronics, Energy, Mechanical, etc.) accredited by PEC.
  • Or 16 years education in relevant Technology/Sciences recognized by HEC.
  • Min CGPA 2.0/4.0 or 60% marks.
  • GAT-General or GRE-General (50% score).
M.Sc. Electrical Engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree (16 years) in relevant discipline (Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication) accredited by PEC.
  • Score of at least 50% marks in GRE General Type test (UATA).

PhD Electrical Engineering

PhD Eligibility Criteria

For admission into the PhD, minimum Master Degree (18 years of Education) in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent, recognized by the HEC, will be required. Other eligibility criteria, applicable to all PhD programs, are mentioned in PhD Rules and Regulations Chapter.

Course Work Requirements

Ph.D students will be required to pass 18 credit hours course work, that is, six (06) courses from the list of electives.
